On July 28, 1940, a beautiful baby girl was born to the late Jessie and Fannie Johnson in Onalaska, Texas. They presented her to the world as Ruby Murl Johnson.
She grew up in Onalaska, Texas where she attended public school and later moved to Livingston, Texas to attend public school. She accepted Christ into her heart at an early age and knew she had a savior. Even in sickness she thanked Jesus and said Hallelujah. She met the love of her life, best friend, and soul mate Odis Shine Sr. (preceded her in death) which lasted 46 years.
Ruby transitioned from this life on June 7, 2021 in Kingwood, Texas surrounded by her children and grandchildren whom she cherished dearly.
She is preceded in death by 3 Brothers, 4 Sisters, 1 Son: James E. Shine Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, 2 Sisters: Johnnie L. Fransaw, Mattie Fransaw; 1 Brother: Ben Johnson, Children; Sons: Odis Shine Jr. (Cassandra), Roy Shine (Tina), Billy Shine, John Shine Sr. (Anna), Daughters: Brenda Shine Cooper (Demetrice), Linda Shine Williams, Marianne Shine Johnson (Jackie), Amanda Shine-Lopez (Jose), Annie Shine Barnett (Anthony Sr.). A loving, kind, cherished Daughter-In-Love: Sharon K. Horace. She was blessed to count 25 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. A special love for Murl Anthony (her boy), Lacy, Qusahanda, Lois (Rie), Charlene (Shell), Lowell Shonnie, Latoya, Amanda, Fannie, John Fredrick (Freddy), A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
