ON JULY 14, 1947 IN NEW WILLARD, TEXAS A HANDSOME BABY BOY WAS BORN TO MRS. NEVADA CRISWELL JORDAN AND REV. RICHARD JAMES JORDAN SR. THEY NAMED HIM OLIVER CLAUDE JORDAN. FAMILY AND FRIENDS CALLED HIM “SHINE”.
OLIVER “SHINE” GREW UP IN NEW WILLARD, TEXAS AND ATTENDED DUNBAR PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN LIVINGSTON, TEXAS.
AT AN EARLY AGE HE UNITED WITH THE MT. ZION MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH IN MARSTON, TEXAS. HE WAS EMPLOYED WITH HOUSTON BELT TERMINAL RAILROAD COMPANY UNTIL HIS HEALTH FAILED HIM.
HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY BOTH PARENTS , SISTER: ELLA THERESA JORDAN; BROTHER: RICHARD JAMES JORDAN JR.
HE LEAVES TO CHERISH HIS MEMORIES: SISTERS SHIRLEY PEARL JORDAN OF HOUSTON, TEXAS; ESTER RUTH JORDAN OF NEW WILLARD, TEXAS, NIECE: DEBRA SMITH(JUSTIN) OF HOUSTON, TEXAS. NEPHEW: LEROY MOSES III (TINISHA) OF HOUSTON, TEXAS. GREAT NIECES: D’ASIA KALOGRIS OF HOUSTON, TEXAS; ACESYNLYNN SMITH OF HOUSTON, TEXAS, LONDYN MOSES OF HOUSTON, TEXAS.
