Joy Nell Bogany

Joy Nell was born June 20, 1948, in Seven Oaks, Texas to the late Dan and Neltha Robinett, she attended public school in Shepherd, Texas. She loved Basketball and Homemaking in School.

At the age of 18 she married Mr. Theodis Bogany, to this union 2 children were born. Michael and Odis Bogany. They were united in marriage for over 55 years.

Joy Nell united with the New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Paul High and she remained under the leadership of Pastor Stacey Briscoe, where she faithfully served on the Pastor’s Aide Committee until her health failed her. 

She gained her wings on August 22, 2023, in Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Dan Robinett Sr. and Neltha Robinett; stepfather: Roosevelt Bogany; brothers: Dan Robinett Jr., Robert Robinett, David Wayne Bogany; sisters: Willie Mae Mays, Barbara Ann Washington, Girlie Mae Jackson, Naomie Broussard.

Joy Nell is survived by her husband: Mr. Theodis Bogany of Goodrich, TX; sons: Odis Bogany (Monica) of Huntsville, TX, Michael Bogany (Jill) of Goodrich, TX; sister: Missionary Annie Mae McCloud of Livingston, TX; brother: Rev. Alton Earl Bogany (Justina) of Livingston, TX; a very special niece: Roseta Nickson (Bishop Eldridge Nickson) of Livingston, TX; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
