On October 26, 1945, a beautiful baby girl was born to Walter and Johnnie Lee Petties. Raised in Camden, Texas, Patricia affectionally known as Patsy, attended Camden Public Schools and received her academic diploma from Chester High School. As a child, Patsy was a member of the Lily Island Baptist church where she was baptized. Upon moving to Livingston from Camden, she became a member and church clerk for the Anderson Chapel Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Joseph Daniels.
In her matured years, Patsy met Jim Brown of Livingston, Tx. They later married and bore three exquisite children. After an agreed dissolution of marriage, Patsy continued to inspire and instill excellence in her three children with God’s unconditional love, words of wisdom and paramount care. Patsy also relished a livelihood that consisted of being a creative seamstress, an alteration extraordinaire, helping shoppers choose clothing and apparel at Weiner’s department store and 20+ years as a teacher’s aide for Livingston ISD from which she retired. Patsy loved to creatively clothe her children and travel the roads of East Texas, spending quality time with her family and friends and was an avid shopper.
On Wednesday December 11, 2019 Patsy received her heavenly robe with comfort and a smile.
Left to carry the torch of her legacy are: Two sons, (Cedric Brown (Marcie) of Lufkin, Texas and Kedric J. Brown of Houston, Texas), one daughter (Leah Brown of Houston, Texas). Three grand-daughters (Nikkita Brown of Beaumont, Texas, Aliyah Brown of Corrigan, Texas and Laila Taylor of Houston, Texas). Two grand -sons (Miles Brown of Beaumont Texas and Princeton Taylor of Houston, Texas). One great-grand-daughter (Haiden Crockett of Corrigan). Three sisters: Mattie Winston of Ft. Worth, Tx, Mary Petties of Houston, Tx and Cora Penrice of Camden, Tx. A host of nieces, nephews, near and distant relatives and friends.
Foregoing her in death are parents (Walter and Johnnie), three brothers (Milton Petties, Alonzo (Butch) Petties, Sam (Bo) Petties and Christopher Petties), and one sister (Gwendolyn Lyons).
To the family of Ms. Pat I offer my sincere condolences to the family. I remember Ms. Pat from when we all grew up together under the leadership of pastor Daniels. She was a loving and well respected woman who all ways had a smile that when ever you seen her if you were down you would be lifted. My prayer to the family may God unfailing love comfort and strengthen yall now and in the days to come. May you rest in peace and assurance of God knowing that she is resting in the arms of the master. The Horton-Hutchinson Family
